Nanophotonic switch

IBM's nanophotonic switch exploits a fifth-order cascaded ring resonator fabricated in silicon. The resonators have bends with a radius of 4 µm, and coupling sections 3.5 µm long, yielding a total footprint of 40x12 µm.
