As a non-profit organization, CiS Forschungsinstitut für Mikrosensorik GmbH is an industry-oriented research institution focused on microsensors, microsystem technology and silicon detectors.

Providing mainly application-oriented research and development, CiS serves industrial enterprises and the public sector alike.

Built on more than 20 years of "competence in silicon", our expertise extends from research to development to series production.

The CiS Forschungsinstitut is an institute affiliated to the Technical University of Ilmenau.

On behalf and supported by Federal and State ministries and offices, advanced research projects are undertaken, which contribute to innovations in the private and public sector.

Recognition as a non-profit organization is the result of a successful R&D strategy focusing on the prompt and non-discriminatory application of project results.  Profits are used exclusively for non-profit and charitable purposes.  Indeed, all proceeds benefit research and development.  Supporting organization of CiS Institut is the association Förderverein CiS e.V.
