Dynasil is a pioneer and leader in optical coatings including HEAR and DLC aka hard carbon. A DLC coating is used across many industries, especially in defense and security applications, where the external optic necessitates anti-reflective properties and durability to withstand the harshest environmental conditions. Dynasil’s custom-designed DLC coating chamber deposits the carbon towards the top of the chamber which results in optical coatings with virtually zero pinholes. In addition we use the Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PE-CVD) method which results in a better quality product. The process also eliminates the 4 most common customer issues associated with coatings – pinholes, uniformity, stress and adhesion.
